Jay Johnson had many passions in his life and working alongside his father, Kin Johnson, was definitely one of them. Growing up, Jay always had an interest in the family fuel business, and over the years he became more and more involved. He worked diligently with his father in the family business, while earning a double major in Real Estate and Marketing in 1993 from The Florida State University College of Business.
Johnson & Johnson Transport, Inc. was started in 1994 by Jay's parents, Kin and Jackie Johnson, as a family owned and operated business. In 1998, Kin stepped back from the day to day operations of the business and began distributing the daily responsibilities to Jay. In January of 2000, Kin passed down sole ownership of Johnson & Johnson Transport, Inc. to Jay. Over the next 15 years, Jay's dreams came to fruition and he expanded Transport exponentially. He grew the company in many ways. He increased the fleet, added numerous wholesale customers and entered into contracts with multiple utility companies to provide fuel services during storm restoration efforts.
Jay enjoyed teaching his sons, Jacob and Jarod, in the same manner his father had taught him. He would allow the boys to take turns riding in the bulk trucks and semis with him, make deliveries to wholesale customers and help with repair work on the trucks when needed. Jay led by example, teaching not only his sons but his employees, about God's great love for them
and to always put God first in all things.
God has a plan for each and every one of us. We never know from day to day how our lives will change. On June 12, 2015 our lives changed in a way we never thought possible, our Heavenly Father chose to call our beloved JayBoy home to be with him. Johnson & Johnson Transport, Inc. as we knew it would never be the same again. Desperately wanting to do something to honor their father's memory, Jacob and Jarod, designed a new logo for the company, which is J+J STRONG.
J+J STRONG stands for Jay Johnson Strong.
The cross represents Jay's love for his Heavenly Father
and the red, white and blue represent his love for his country.
The J+J STRONG logo is now proudly displayed on all our equipment.
Jay's wife, Annette Johnson, has stepped in since the time of his passing and continued to run J+J STRONG. While continuing college, Jacob and Jarod stay as involved as possible in the day to day operations of J+J STRONG.
Annette, Jacob, Jarod and the entire J+J STRONG family, strive daily to continue to run the company in a manner that is pleasing to our Lord and Savior and that would make Jay proud!
